The itinerary stretch of 5 days encompasses two significant spiritual spots for the believers of Hinduism and Buddhism. The tour begins with arriving and sightseeing at Varanasi and an excursion to Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh. Then the itinerary transfers to Bodh Gaya in Bihar. The Ganga Ghats at Varanasi are the prime tourist interest, especially the evening Ganga Aarti and the Banarasi silk sarees, majorly worn by Hindu brides on their wedding day. Bodh Gaya is of great spiritual prominence for Buddhist followers as Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment at this place and the historical backdrop of the ancient Nalanda University, presently in ruins due to the invasion by Bakhtiyar Khilji.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Varanasi and sightseeing

Arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport or Varanasi Junction and directly transfer to the pre-booked hotel escorted by the representative. After check-in, freshen up, have lunch, and relax for some time. In the evening witness the mesmerising Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedha Ghat and then visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Spend the rest of the evening wandering through the lanes of Varanasi, trying various street foods or shopping for the famous Banarasi sarees or others. Alternatively, if reaching Varanasi early in the morning, then the day’s plan can be crafted from visiting the Ramnagar Fort, followed by Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Ganga Aarti.
Day 2

Varanasi to Sarnath Excursion

Early in the morning attend the morning Ganga Aarti at the Assi Ghat and visit the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir. After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Sarnath - the place where Lord Buddha preached for the first time after attaining enlightenment. Reaching Sarnath, the places to cover include the Deer Park, Sarnath Main Temple, Sarnath Museum, Dhamek Stupa and Jain Temple. Return to the hotel at Varanasi in the evening and retreat for some relaxation overnight.
Day 3

Varanasi to Bodh Gaya

In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and head towards Bodh Gaya. If the visit to the Ramnagar Fort was missed on the first day, cover the spot first and then drive to Bodh Gaya, 255 km from Varanasi. Reaching there, check in to a hotel, and after settling down head out of the hotel to visit the Mahabodhi Temple and the highly revered Bodhi Tree. Return to the hotel and wrap up for the day.
Day 4

Bodh Gaya sightseeing

After breakfast set out from the hotel and drive to the ruins of the ancient Nalanda University. Visit the Hiuen Tsang Memorial Hall and then have lunch. Next halt at Vishwa Shanti Stupa and Griddhakuta Peak and head back to the hotel at Bodh Gaya.
Day 5
