Bodh Gaya is a small village in the state of Bihar, a significant spiritual destination for the followers of Buddhism. The Mahabodhi Tree is a site of great reverence under which Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment after prolonged meditation. The Mahabodhi Temple was built near the Mahabodhi Tree, which emits an enriching experience. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also a major tourist attraction in Bihar. The package of 4 days covers Bodh Gaya, the land of Nirvana, Rajgir, a serene city in the Nalanda district, and the ruins of the famous Nalanda University, a significant historical site.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Bodh Gaya

Arrive at Bodh Gaya Airport or Gaya Railway Station and get escorted by the Bodh Gaya representative and transfer to the hotel. Take some time to settle down in the room and freshen up. After some relaxation, set out for a sightseeing tour of Bodh Gaya. Visit the Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and then visit the Mahabodhi temple. Have lunch at a hotel. After lunch visit Sujata Village & Dungeshwari Hills and return back to the accommodation. Have dinner and get enough rest overnight at the hotel.
Day 2

Bodh Gaya - Rajgir – Bodh Gaya

After breakfast at the hotel leave for an excursion to Rajgir. Reaching there, visit Vishwa Shanti Stupa and Ashoka Stupa Peak. After lunch, visit the Griddhakuta Peak and Swarna Bhandar. Return to the hotel at Bodh Gaya in the evening and get some rest.
Day 3

Bodh Gaya - Nalanda

After having breakfast, set out for the day’s visit to Nalanda. The first destination is the ruins of the Nalanda University, believed to be the treasure house of knowledge from various fields. the new campus of the freshly constructed Nalanda University is at a distance of about 4 km. After exploring the ruins of Nalanda University, have lunch. Next, visit the Hiuen Tsang Memorial Hall, built in the loving memory of Hiuen Tsang, a Chinese scholar and traveller. Drive back to the hotel in the evening and retreat to relaxation for the rest of the day.
Day 4

Bodh Gaya - Evening Departure

Depending on the scheduled departure, check out from the hotel after breakfast and engage in a half-day sightseeing at Bodh Gaya. Visit the Thai Monastery, the Great Buddha Statue, the Royal Bhutan Monastery and the Indosan Nippon Japanese Temple. All of these spots are in close vicinity to the Mahabodhi Temple. After sightseeing, have lunch and head towards Gaya Junction or Bodh Gaya Airport for departure.
